Mackay Baptist Church believes that it is a requirement that all Christians give towards the work of the church, but that our generosity should be grounded in our love and affection for our Lord Jesus and all that He has done for us, rather than out of compulsion – in accordance with 2 Corinthians 9:7. Our leadership team has implemented controls to ensure that church finances are managed ethically and effectively for the glory of God and the fulfilment of our church mission. This includes submission to regular financial audits, the compliance with statutory regulations and the transparency of all financial information to church members. Church finances are administered in alignment with the church budget which is approved by the church membership at the Annual General Meeting and is expensed towards mission support, ministry support, pastoral, counselling and administrative staff, property and operational expenses.
